I don't know a lot about Henry David Thoreau (yet). I do know he was a famous writer and philosopher. But I do know that I love some of his ideas and quotations. This is probably my favorite quotation of his that I've discovered so far. Obviously he
was a man who thought "out-of-the-box". Someone once said, "Don't just think outside-of-the-box. Think as if
there is no box." He did not set any limits or restrictions to what he
could think or accomplish. I have caught myself being complacent in a
rut, one of my own making, and being self-satisfied with the "status
quo". I think we have set limits on ourselves that God does not mean
for us to establish.
We are meant
to have a freedom to grow and expand our horizons, and it is an
unlimited life, if we choose to let ourselves accept it. John 10:10-- Jesus said -- "I have come that they may have Life, and have it more abundantly."
As we've heard it said, "The Sky's the Limit!" Let's
live life to the full -- let's max it out -- and not allow ourselves or
others to build walls and gates of complacency and mediocrity around us
that limit us from achieving our potentials and enjoying total freedom!
